Make the most of the Tulare County Job Fair on October 1, 2025, by arriving confident, prepared, and ready to connect with local employers. Use this checklist to get job-fair ready—and don’t forget to take advantage of our Job Fair Readiness workshops at Employment Connection!

Before the Job Fair

✅ Update Your Resume
Bring at least 10–15 printed copies on clean, white paper. Ask a career coach to review it for clarity and impact.

✅ Prepare Your Elevator Pitch
Practice a 30-second introduction that highlights who you are, your experience, and what kind of job you're looking for.

✅ Attend a Job Readiness Workshop
Join us every Tuesday after Job Connect at the Visalia and Porterville Employment Connection Centers to:

• Practice interview questions

• Get help polishing your resume

• Build confidence for one-on-one conversations

• Learn job fair best practices

No registration needed—just drop in after Job Connect!

✅ Research Participating Employers
Check the job fair listing at www.tularecountyjobs.com or ask an Employment Connection staff member for a preview of attending employers. Make a list of 5–8 you want to talk to.

Day of the Job Fair

✅ Dress Professionally
Wear clean, job-appropriate clothing. Business casual is a safe bet unless the job requires specific attire.

✅ Bring the Essentials

• Multiple copies of your resume

• A notepad and pen

• A folder or portfolio to hold materials

• Breath mints or water for a quick refresh

✅ Arrive Early
Give yourself time to get comfortable, scan the room, and get in line before it gets busy.

✅ Speak with Confidence

• Smile and make eye contact

• Offer a firm but friendly handshake

• Speak clearly and ask thoughtful questions

✅ Take Notes
Write down employer names, job openings, and key details so you can follow up later.

After the Job Fair

✅ Follow Up
Send a short thank-you email or message to any employer you connected with. Mention something specific you discussed and express your interest in the position.
